Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Lookalike Finder collects, uses, shares, stores, and retains data, including face data, when you use the app.
1. Data We Collect
We collect only the data needed to provide the app's core features:
- Account information: If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic account information such as your email address and profile identifier through Firebase Auth.
- Submitted photo: When you choose or capture a photo, the app processes the image you submit so it can generate a lookalike result.
- Face-processing metadata: During face matching, our processor may return metadata such as a detected
face_token, request identifier, and confidence scores. - Match result data: The app displays ranked lookalike results and similarity scores based on the submitted photo.
- Local match history: For premium accounts, the app automatically stores a local copy of the submitted photo and result data on the user's device so the user can view past matches later.
2. Face Data We Process
When you submit a photo for matching, the app processes the face contained in that photo to generate a lookalike result.
The face data processed by the app consists of:
- the face contained in the submitted photo;
- face-processing metadata returned by our face-matching service provider, such as a
face_token, request identifier, and confidence scores; and - for premium accounts, the local on-device copy of the submitted photo and the related match result data.
The app compares your submitted photo against the app's existing reference dataset of public-figure faces. The app does not add your submitted face photo to that reference dataset, and we do not create or maintain our own biometric template database from user-submitted photos.
We do not use face data for advertising, profiling, identity verification, authentication, surveillance, or user tracking.
We do not sell face data.
3. How We Use Face Data
We use submitted face data only to:
- detect whether a face is present in the submitted photo;
- compare the submitted face against the app's existing reference dataset;
- generate and display ranked lookalike results and similarity scores; and
- store a local copy of the submitted photo and related match result on the user's device for premium accounts.
4. Sharing With Service Providers, Third Parties, and Storage Location
We share submitted photos used for face matching only with Face++, our face-matching service provider, solely so the app can process the face search request and return the match result. The app sends the submitted photo over HTTPS to the Face++ API domain used by the app for this processing.
We do not share user face photos with Firebase Auth, RevenueCat, Google AdMob, or other third parties for face-matching purposes.
We do not store user-submitted face photos on our own servers.
For premium accounts, saved history data is stored locally in the app's storage on your device. It is not stored in our own backend.
5. Retention of Face Data
We do not retain user-submitted face photos on our own servers.
For premium accounts, the local image copy and related result data remain on your device until you delete that history from the app or uninstall the app.
For non-premium accounts, or if no history is saved, the submitted photo is used only for the current face-matching request and is not retained by us on our own servers after the result is returned.
The app does not use Face++ face-storage features to enroll or store user-submitted photos in a persistent FaceSet or user biometric database. Face++ processes the submitted photo only to return the face-matching result for the current request. According to Face++'s published privacy policy, original pictures and service results are deleted or anonymized as soon as possible after processing unless a storage feature is enabled, and Face++ may retain network logs as required by applicable law. 6. Your Controls
You can delete saved local history, on-device photos, and cached results from inside the app at any time through Settings.
You may also remove local app data by uninstalling the app.
